Friday Night Lights

 

Friday Night Lights is an NBC drama series that ran from 2006-2011. The show is based on a high school football team in the small fictional town of Dillion ,Texas. Friday Night Lights is based on a book, Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team and a Dream and a film, Friday Night Lights. It was created by Peter Berg and produced by Sarah Aubrey, Jason Katims, Brain Grazer and David Nevins. The show follows Coach Taylor and his family when they move into the small, football obsessed town of Dillon. The show deals with various topics like family values, racism, drugs, abortion and religion. [Wikipedia] 

 

The first three seasons follow the Dillion Panthers. You see the ups and downs of the football season and of various characters. You see characters go through struggles like injury, adultry, murder, rape, racism and many others. You also see characters stive through winning a state championship, finding faith, and learning from mistakes.

 

The last two seasons take a shift to the East Dillion Lions where you meet new characters and view new struggles like abortion, racism and economic struggle. You watch these characters grow past the struggles of their at home lives and watch them make it to state.
